This project was first posted awhile back and now we have additonal renderings! These new views show the design for the new building additon behind the existing facades on N St, as well as some glimpses of the courtyard area, roofdecks, and balconies.
These are the latest renderings of an 87-unit residential project coming to two sites off Blagden Alley (currently occupied by parking lots) in Shaw, just west of the Covention Center.
And now for some (somewhat old) news – DC’s Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) put out a request several months back for proposals for 1300 H Street NE, (where the R.L. Christian Community Library currently sits empty), hoping for mixed-income projects combined with community-minded features.
Here are the renderings we created for PGN Architects as part of their proposal for a 28-unit apartment building over 3,000 square feet of retail. One of the interesting things about this process was the various iterations we went through for the facade treatment. We helped PGN Architects explore a couple different combinations of materials and locations of wood panel cladding on the exterior — and that’s one of the beauties of 3D renderings — it’s very easy to make design change on the fly and test out different schemes along the way.
You can see the other 5 proposals listed and explained on Urban Turf.
This rendering (click image to view it large) represents a dusk view of the 65 new condos coming to N St (map) between 17th and 18th st NW. This location is just southeast of Dupont Circle and will be neighbors with the Tabard Inn. Here’s what this site currently currently looks like, as seen in this Google Street View image:
